My journey to Gran Canaria – How I became a freelance wedding officiant

From a passion for words to a calling
Sometimes, life takes us exactly where we are meant to be. For me, that place was Gran Canaria. But the journey began much earlier—with my love for words, for language, and most of all, for love itself.
I never planned to become a freelance wedding officiant. But when I officiated a friend’s wedding, I felt for the first time how powerful words can be when they come from the heart. I had already completed numerous rhetorical training programs, organized and hosted events for large organizations like FlowCity, but this was different. It wasn’t just a speech; it was a connection.
Why I moved to Gran Canaria
After completing my teaching degree, which included Spanish, I felt the urge to explore the world. I didn’t just want to teach—I wanted to experience. I trained as a freelance wedding officiant and knew: I want to accompany couples, make their love tangible through words, and create unforgettable ceremonies.
When I arrived in Gran Canaria, I knew immediately—this is my place. The energy of this island, the sea, the warmth, the freedom… all of it reflects exactly what a free wedding ceremony means: authenticity, individuality, and deep connection.
For me, love is the most important thing in life
Every ceremony I officiate is more than just a job for me—it is a heartfelt passion. I love playing with words, capturing emotions, and bringing the power of love into people’s hearts.
When I create a ceremony, I do it with my whole heart and full dedication. Because love is the strongest, most beautiful, and most meaningful thing we can experience in life. And if I can help two people experience their special moment exactly as they dream it, then I know I am exactly where I am meant to be.
✨ I came to Gran Canaria to do what I love—to connect people through words and give them a ceremony they will carry in their hearts forever.
